EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The main purpose of the HIV/AIDS Educational/Counseling Center is to provide information about AIDS which is accurate and which does not attempt to scare the population. The center serves to increase AIDS awareness in the Middle Eastern population in New York and in other major cities with a particular focus on specific target groups such as youths and high-risk groups (intravenous drug users, men who have sex with men etc.)

This center has as its primary objective the guarantee of access to anonymous, confidential and cost-free serological testing for HIV, for all persons who wish to know their serological status. M.E.N.T.O.R.S. function as a multidisciplinary technical and support team and also act as a prevention service through their counseling services.

  Location

The M.E.N.T.O.R.S. HIV/AIDS counseling center, is centrally located in Manhattan at 110 West 40th Street, between Sixth Avenue and Broadway, Suite # 1601. The Help Line Number is, toll-free, 1-877-473-3344.

  DIRECT TARGET GROUPS:

- Youths: high school and college students
- High Risk Groups (e.g. IV Drug Users)
- HIV positive cases
- AIDS patients and their families
- Care providers
- General public members concerned with HIV/AIDS

  Working Hours

9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Monday through Friday (except public holidays)
